Recap: Axie Summer Clash in La Union
The Axie Summer Clash, presented by GoDigital Pilipinas, created massive waves in La Union last May 27, 2023!
Building up to the highly anticipated tournament, MVP Esports’ held an insightful Ask-Me-Anything (AMA) session hosted by Pareng JP, featuring special guests R3IGN and CaraCute who shared the tournament mechanics and gave players a sneak peek of what awaited them at the event. Lucky viewers and followers scored free accommodation slots and SLP, heightening the anticipation for the entire community.
It was indeed the perfect time for players to engage with the community, showcase their remarkable skills, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of La Union. The community showed overwhelming support and enthusiasm, with over 89 talented players converging in La Union to compete for a coveted spot on the leaderboards and a chance at the whopping PHP 500,000 prize pool.
Social media personalities and content creators such as Boarknock, Archer, ParengJP, ChillChilax, Wam, and VMG, who served as the official hosts and shoutcasters of the event brought the action-packed tournament to another level. Even fans who couldn’t attend the tournament in person were able to join the excitement through MVP Esports’ Facebook page live stream. Chief, the co-founder of Axiegg and Esports4Everyone, also shared his valuable insights and hyped everyone during the event.
The tournament itself featured seven rounds of Swiss, with unlocked runes and charms, a 7 Axie pool, and thrilling best-of-three matches. Community Gaming served as the official tournament platform, enabling players to compete with transparency and fairness. Cash prizes awaited players who secured four to seven victories. The tournament is also acknowledged and licensed by the Games and Amusements Board (GAB).
The Top 8 players — Chan5539, Jove, Leyonpwg, Disi, Docward23, Sequinox, xpiccaboo, and sonxgong showed incredible skills and strategies, worthy of the title.
The match between Chan5539 and xpiccaboo will be remembered as one of the tournament’s best moments. After a series of nail-biting matches, Chan5539 emerged as the champion of Axie Summer Clash. The two contenders for the championship title exemplified the true spirit of sportsmanship, celebrating each other’s achievements like brothers.
