The esports industry is rapidly growing, and women are increasingly becoming more involved in the gaming world. Despite this, female representation in esports remains relatively low. All-female esports teams in the Philippines are vital to providing a platform for female gamers to showcase their skills and challenge the notion that esports is male-dominated.

One such team is Bren Esports Finesse, a sub-team of Bren Esports, one of the top esports organizations in the country. The team competes in various games such as League of Legends, Mobile Legends, and VALORANT. Since its establishment in 2020, Bren Esports Finesse has won several tournaments and competitions, including the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines Season 6 and the VALORANT First Strike Philippines.

Guhit Gaming is an all-female team that specializes in Dota 2. The team was formed in 2018 and has competed in various tournaments, including the Female Esports League Season 2 and the Mineski Pro Gaming League Season 9. Missouri Esports is another all-female team based in the Philippines that competes in Mobile Legends and other games. Founded in 2019, Missouri Esports has participated in several tournaments, including the MPL-PH Season 4.

These teams are not only making waves in the competitive gaming scene but also breaking down barriers and paving the way for a more inclusive and diverse gaming community. By supporting all-female esports teams in the Philippines, we can create a more welcoming environment for female gamers and promote diversity and equality in the esports industry.

In addition to the all-female esports teams in the Philippines, there are also mixed-gender teams that showcase the skills of both male and female gamers. One such team is our very own MVP Esports, which has female members CaraCute and Inkayyy, who are breaking the norm and pursuing a career in maa le-dominated sport.

CaraCute and Inkayyy have proven that gender is not a barrier to success in esports. They have competed in various tournaments, mostly in the Web3 space. Their presence in the team shows that gender diversity can enhance the competitive advantage of an esports team, and the Philippines is making strides towards greater inclusion and diversity in esports.

They demonstrate that anyone, regardless of gender, can excel in the gaming industry with hard work, dedication, and skill. As we celebrate International Women’s Month, let us continue to support and empower the women in the esports industry, including the all-female teams in the Philippines. They serve as role models for aspiring female gamers who may feel discouraged by the lack of female representation in esports.
